Good to know

  • The maximum CPP retirement pension starting at 65 in 2026 is $1,507.65 a month; the average new pension at 65 was $858.34 a month (July 2026).
  • CPP is paid on the same day as Old Age Security, usually in the last week of the month and earlier in December.
  • Quebec residents get the Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) from Retraite Québec instead.

Old Age Security (OAS) is paid on the same days.

+What if my CPP payment doesn't arrive?

Wait 5 working days (10 for a cheque) after the payment date before contacting the government. Payments by direct deposit usually arrive on the morning of the payment date.
