ChatGPT and Claude
Canadian tax calculators in ChatGPT and Claude
Ask ChatGPT or Claude what you'd take home on a raise in Alberta, how much HST is in a receipt or what your OSAP might be, and get the same answer this site gives: the tools run our own calculators, on the 2026 rates checked October 2026. Each answer says which tax year and assumptions it used, and links back to the calculator so you can check it.
https://taxcalculatorcanada.ca/mcpWhat it can work out
- Income tax: Federal and provincial tax, CPP or QPP and EI on a salary or hourly wage, with your average and marginal rate.
- Take-home pay: Net pay per year, month, two weeks or week.
- Pay stub: The deductions on one paycheque and what lands in your account.
- Sales tax: GST, HST, PST or QST added to a price, or taken back out of a total.
- Overtime: A week of hours split into regular, overtime and double time under your province's rule, with any shift premium, and the week's gross pay.
- Hours and minutes: Add and subtract hours, or the time between two clock times less a break.
- OSAP: An OSAP estimate from Ontario's published rules: costs, contributions and the weekly maximum.
- GPA: GPA and cumulative GPA on your school's own scale.
- Tax brackets: Federal and provincial brackets and basic personal amounts for 2026.
- Minimum wage: The current minimum wage in every province and territory, and the next increase.
- Payment dates: The next CPP, OAS, GST/HST credit, Canada Child Benefit and other payment dates.
How to add it
It takes a minute, once. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.

Things to ask
- “What would I take home every two weeks on $72,000 in Ontario?”
- “I make $24.50 an hour, 40 hours a week, in Nova Scotia. How much income tax will I pay this year?”
- “My receipt in Quebec says $86.23 total. How much of that was GST and QST?”
- “I worked 9, 9, 10, 8 and 11 hours Monday to Friday in BC at $28 an hour. What is my pay with overtime?”
- “Estimate my OSAP: independent, Ontario university, $8,200 tuition, $1,300 a month to live.”
- “When is the next Canada Child Benefit payment?”
What it does not do
- It is not tax, legal or financial advice. It works out estimates from published rates; it does not tell you what to do with your money, and it cannot see your return or your pay stub.
- Income tax covers one person's employment income for the full 2026 year with the basic credits and an optional RRSP deduction. Self-employment, investments, pensions, spouses and dependants, tuition, medical and other credits are not included.
- It never needs your name, SIN or any account number. Don't share them.
Privacy
The connector has no account and no sign-in. When ChatGPT or Claude calls a tool, it sends our server only the numbers for that calculation (an income, a province, a price); the server works out the answer and sends it back, and keeps nothing: the inputs are not stored or logged, and we never see your chat. The assistant you use has its own privacy policy for your conversation. Privacy policy.

Questions people ask
+Is Tax Calculator Canada in the ChatGPT app directory?
Not yet. For now you add it yourself with the connector URL above (Developer mode in ChatGPT, a custom connector in Claude). This page will say when a directory listing is live.
+Will ChatGPT give me the same numbers as this site?
Yes. The tools run the same calculation code as the calculators on this site, with the same rates, so a tool’s answer matches the page’s for the same inputs. Each answer links to the page so you can check it.
+Does it cost anything?
No. Like the rest of the site it is free, with no sign-up.
+Which tax year does it use?
2026, on figures checked October 2026 against the CRA, Revenu Québec and each province. Where a province changed a rate partway through 2026, it uses the full-year value, not the prorated payroll rate.
